Regeneration
The Halifax regeneration project is part of Yorkshire forward’s Renasissance Towns regeneration project launced in 2002. Support is also coming from the local Regional Development Agency.
The plan for Halifax is to improve the layout of the town to allow easier movement for people and traffic. The project aims to join the Piece Hall, train station, Eureka!, the parish church, Dean Clough and the People’s Park to the town centre.
One of the most radical projects will see Broad Street transformed to include a 100 Premier Inn hotel, with a Vue cinema, shops, bowling alley and bingo hall under a £50m project.
